The Time Is Now – Don’t Miss Your Chance To Make a Difference In Texas!

This November, Texas voters will decide whether or not to lower their property tax bills and prevent a new real estate tax from ever existing.

The ballot measure is Proposition 1: The Homeowner Tax Relief Proposition. Prop 1 would lower property taxes (by increasing the homestead exemption to $25,000) and permanently ban a sales tax on real-estate transactions.

But … you can’t vote if you’re not registered … so here is what you can do:

 Sep 17  TREPAC Meet & Greet  4PM - 6PM  EHAR Office  Flyer

Hello EHAR Members,

We would love to invite you to attend our Meet and Greet social event to welcome our new AE for EHAR, Lisa Chollett.  It will be held at Tuscan Slice on Sept  17th from 4-6 p.m. We will be serving appetizers and would love to see you there. We are also hosting an auction with items to bid on to benefit TREPAC which has done great things for REALTORS this year including, just to name a  few:

  • Brokers: Gov. Abbot signed House Bill 7 which states that the occupation fee that Texas real estate brokers pay when applying for or renewing their 2-year broker’s license was repealed. As of Sept. 1st, brokers who renew their licenses and people who apply for a broker’s license on or after that day will see a $300 savings.
  • On Nov. 3rd, Texas voters will have the chance to permanenetly ban taxes on the sale of real estate and to increase the homestead exemption from $15,000 to $25,000.
  • House Bill 2489 keeps HOA’s out of the property management busines and protects the right of homeowners by clarifying that HOA’s don’t have the authority to screen, approve or deny prospective tenants. Prospective tenants also don’t have to provide a credit report or lease appl. to the HOA.
  • House Joint Resolution 131, which would have allowed home-equity loan fees to be increased, died in the committee. The Texas Association of REALTORS will lead a study to evaluate future of home- equity lending in Texas. Again, these are just a few things that TREPAC has helped accomplish this year.

You can also bring your check for your TREPAC donation to turn in at the event. We look forward to having a fun evening with other Agents, Affiliates and our new AE !

Thank you to the sponsors for this event:
